The
Employee Shareholders Association of ING took part
to the creation of the
EFES - The European Federation of Employee Share
Ownership. The EFES was born in 1998, an international
conference being organised in Brussels with the
participation of Belgian Prime Minister Jean-Luc
Dehaene. The EFES Honorary President and the EFES
Secretary General were former employee shareholders
of ING. The EFES is now widely recognized as the
European representative organisation of employee
ownership. The EFES got a seat in the Committee
for Enterprise Policy of the European Commission,
being considered as a Business Representative Organisation.
The EFES has some 150 member organisations in the
European Union, representing some 117.500 companies
with some 6.750.000 employees.
